academic collaboration between Suan
Sunandha Rajabhat University, Thailand,
and Tianjin University of Traditional
Chinese Medicine, People's Republic
of China, is a strategic health
initiative aimed at promoting holistic
medical development and overall
well-being. This initiative is aligned
with the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), specifically
Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and
promote well-being for all at all
ages. This
project has the following
objectives: 1. To foster
concrete academic collaboration between
the two institutions. 2.
To provide students with the opportunity
for clinical training at affiliated
hospitals of Tianjin University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine. 3. To operationalize activities
in accordance with the signed Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA), ensuring tangible
outcomes. 4. To build a
strong and sustainable academic network
that enhances institutional capacity and
academic development. In
the academic year 2024, students from
the Bachelor of Traditional Chinese
Medicine program, College of Allied
Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
University, participated in an academic
exchange and clinical practicum at
Tianjin University of Traditional
Chinese Medicine, one of the
internationally renowned institutions in
the field. Under the supervision of
medical professionals in affiliated
hospitals, students engaged in hands-on
clinical practice, gaining experience in
disease diagnosis, acupuncture, Chinese
herbal medicine, and holistic
therapeutic techniques rooted in the
preventive principles of traditional
Chinese medicine. Beyond
clinical knowledge and technical skill
development, the program provided
students with invaluable intercultural
experiences through immersion in the
host country’s culture and
healthcare environment. This helped
enhance their language proficiency,
adaptability, and cross-cultural
communication, while deepening their
understanding of international
healthcare systems. This
project plays a pivotal role in
developing high-quality health
professionals equipped with global
perspectives. It enables the integration
of traditional Chinese medical knowledge
into Thailand’s healthcare system,
thereby contributing to the improvement
of public health services. The
initiative directly supports SDG
3, which emphasizes ensuring
healthy lives and promoting well-being
for all at all ages.
