This research studies the genetic diversity and wing morphology of the blood-sucking fly Haematobia exigua, an ectoparasite of significant animal health. Mitochondrial cytochrome b (cytb) gene analysis combined with Wing Geometric Morphometrics techniques were used within the context of public health and One Health. The results enhance knowledge about important veterinary blood-sucking insects and provide foundational information for population classification, surveillance, and appropriate pest management planning, linking animal health care with environmental management and community well-being.
