The College of Allied Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus, congratulates Ms. Manatchanok Boonklom, a second-year student in the Public Health and Health Promotion program,

along with her team members from Kasetsart University, Thammasat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, and Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University,

on receiving the 2nd Runner-Up Award and a cash prize of 8,000 baht for presenting their innovation, “Senior Chair: Shock-Absorbing Support Chair,” at the ATS & HSG Innovation Pitching Day, part of the STEAM4INNOVATOR Day activities organized by the Ajinomoto Foundation in collaboration with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) on September 7, 2026.

The “Senior Chair: Shock-Absorbing Support Chair” may seem like an ordinary chair, but it is an innovation developed to assist elderly people with knee problems. Standing up can be difficult, so we developed an innovation to reduce the effort required to stand up and increase confidence for the elderly. The chair's mechanism provides assistance to the hips, helping the user to stand upright. Users therefore do not need to exert as much force from their legs or arms as they would when getting up from a regular chair.
