Dr. Sureewan Siladlao, Head of the Community Public Health Department, assigned second-year students to participate in the “Project to Preserve Local Traditions, Culture, and Wisdom 2026” at Wat Paksamut, Mueang District, Samut Songkhram Province. There were three teams participating in the sand pagoda building competition:

1. Public Arts Team

2. Three Friends Sand Art Team

3. Golden Sand Team

In this competition, the Public Arts Team won first prize in the public category of the sand pagoda building competition.

The Three Friends Sand Art Team and the Golden Sand Team received honorable mention awards.

This competition continues the Thai Songkran tradition of bringing sand to the temple to return the sand that clings to one's feet when leaving. Students collaboratively build beautiful sand pagodas as offerings to Buddha, fostering unity and decoration.

The event took place on March 20, 2026, at Wat Paksamut, Mueang District, Samut Songkhram Province.
