
On December 23, 2025,
Assistant Professor Dr. Jatuporn Ounprasertsuk, a lecturer in the Medical and Public Health Secretary program, and students from the College of Allied Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus,
along with Ms. Mananya Chuesailert, Head of the Samut Songkhram Provincial Agricultural Council,
participated in a field visit as part of the project to enhance the conservation potential of the 'Khom' lychee variety in Samut Songkhram Province, aiming to sustainably maintain the geographical indication brand. This project is under the Royal Project for Plant Genetic Conservation initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (PGCC) (Government budget, fiscal year 2026).
This field visit aimed to survey the cultivation areas of the 'Khom' lychee variety, gather opinions and identify problems faced by farmers to be reported to government agencies. The goal is to consider ways to develop 'Khom' lychee growers to achieve export-quality produce and explore new sales channels, thereby increasing farmers' income
